Button doesn't expect to score points in Melbourne

14 March 2008

Honda driver Jenson Button believes his Honda Formula 1 car is not competitive just yet to start scoring points from the opening round in Melbourne. The Briton does expect though the team will face a more competitive season than last year when the team was unable to impress.

"The great thing is that no-one has a clue where we stand and it's quite exciting," Button said. "I don't think we are going to be challenging for points but we are going to be a lot closer, actually racing in the mix with the slower part of that middle pack."

But Button does believe the team should be able to score points later on in the season. "If it keeps going the way we think it is going to go and it stays on track then I'll be very happy," he said.
