Glock doing fine after heavy crash

Timo Glock crashed out of today's Australian Grand Prix. The 25-year-old ran wide at turn 12 and as he tried to bring the Toyota back on track he was launched into the air crashing his car into the tyres barriers and spinning around towards turn 13. After the race though Glock said he was doing fine.

"I'm doing fine really," said Glock after the race. "We'll just have to wait and see how my back feels after a few days but hopefully we'll be fully fit for next week's Malaysian Grand Prix.

"As I entered turn 12 I had a bit of understeer and ran wide, but as I was trying to steer the car back on track I was all of a sudden launched into the air. A pretty spectacular crash, but fortunately I'm doing just fine."

Looking back at his race Glock said: "Given our starting position this was always going to be a difficult afternoon's work. I had contact with two other cars at the start but despite our heavy fuel load we were able to make up some ground in the early part of the race. Still, the car felt a bit strange in terms of understeer and that's what we have to work on to improve the car. After the pit stop it was hard work to drive and my race ended with the crash. I feel fine but I'm disappointed and we will hope for better fortunes next week."
