Rosberg savours first F1 podium

Nico Rosberg was as happy to be on the podium in Albert Park as Lewis Hamilton was to win the race as the Williams driver notched up his first ever F1 podium, confirming his team's pre-season testing pace.

"I'm really happy, it's amazing to be on the podium in F1!" exclaimed Rosberg. "It's been a while - three years - since I've been up there and it's just amazing for the team working so hard in the winter and making so much progress."

"My qualifying could have been slightly better, but everything happened as planned," he added. "I had a fantastic start and that's what helped me have a great race. I think we have a solid car to start the season with and hope to have good development to have a good year."
