Dennis savours sweet victory

McLaren boss Ron Dennis was savouring Lewis Hamilton's victory in the Australian Grand Prix after a difficult 2007 and strained winter in which the team faced ongoing scrutiny following the fall-out from last year's spy scandal.

"Its been a difficult few months and we're a bit disappointed not to get second place but the safety car put us out of place and we just needed a bit more of a margin over the BMW," Dennis said of the end result in which Hamilton triumphed and Kovalainen ended up fifth.

"What a wonderful drive from Lewis and we're just very happy with the competitiveness of the cars," he added.
