Australian Grand Prix winner Lewis Hamilton completed the fastest lap on Friday in the second free practice session. The Briton was just ahead of Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen. Button and Vettel showed competitive times as they ended fourth and fifth.

While Friday's first free practice was full of incidents the second free practice session was rather quiet. Kimi Raikkonen was on top of the time sheets in the first half an hour with Toro Rosso driver Sebastian Vettel close behind in second surprisingly. At McLaren the team focussed on Sunday's race set-up.

Towards the end of the session Felipe Massa was leading, but with five minutes left Lewis Hamilton completed the fastest lap of the day. The McLaren driver clearly raced at the edge and was able to show his pace, a tenth of a second faster than the Ferrari drivers.

Sebastien Bourdais complete only one lap in the second free practice session due to a technical problem with his car. David Coulthard had to skip the session as his car was still heavily damaged from his incident in the first free practice session.
