Horner still confident after double trouble in free practice

Horner still confident after double trouble in free practice

21 March 2008

The Red Bull team faced a difficult start of the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend. David Coulthard's session ended after 45 minutes when he flew off the track and his suspension broke, while Webber's session ended 20 minutes later when his Renault engine gave up on him. Team boss Horner is still confident though for the upcoming weekend.

According to Horner Webber's engine problem isn't too serious. "Mark had an engine problem, which you don't see a lot with a Renault engine," Horner said. "We can easily fix that before the start of the second free practice session. It's obviously very hot and humid here and many teams are facing difficulties. We have no control over our engines, but I'm confident that our reliability for the rest of the weekend should be good.

"As for Coulthard, he hit the kerbstones before his suspension broke. Our engineers in England and here on track are checking the data to see if it was a flat tyre or perhaps another problem. The suspension shouldn't just brake like that normally so we are seriously investigating the matter at this moment."
