Concerns about the weather at Sepang caused a number of teams to complete their qualifying laps earlier than they would have liked, guarding against being impacted by the rain which fell suddenly and heavily in the GP2 Asia race after qualifying on Saturday.
Latest forecasts for race day at Sepang predict humidity will be around the 80 per cent mark in the early morning, rising to over 90 per cent during the course of the day. While temperatures are expected to climb to over 36 degrees Centigrade, the risk of isolated thunderstorms and sudden downpours during the race are currently being pegged at 50 per cent probable.
