Kubica savours return to podium

Robert Kubica was delighted with his first podium finish since the 2006 Italian Grand Prix as he fought back from a pointless Australian Grand Prix to finish second, just 20 seconds behind Kimi Raikkonen.

"A fantastic result for the team, a second, second place in a row for us," Kubica said after the race. "After a disappointing Australian race for me I'm very happy for myself and the team - my first podium since Monza in 2006."

BMW lies second in the constructors' championship just five points behind McLaren and Kubica is fifth with eight points while team mate Heidfeld is third with eleven points.
