The FIA is set to tweak qualifying rules ahead of next weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix, to prevent a repeat of events in Malaysia.
In Malaysia a number of cars completed their final flying laps early and were slowing down to conserve fuel while other cars were still trying to put in their qualifying times. This posed a safety danger because of the speed differentials, and resulted in the two McLaren drivers being penalised five places each on the grid.
The FIA is set to confirm that there will be a maximum time limit in which all drivers will have to return to the pits having completed their flying lap. Rumours suggest this could be 120 per cent of their normal lap time, but has yet to be confirmed.
