Asian F3 champ wins test with Force India

31 March 2008

Belgian driver Frédéric Vervisch will see his dream come true as the brand-new Asian Formula 3 champion will get the chance to test with the Force India Formula 1 team later this year.

As a reward for winning the Asian F3 championship the 21-year-old will get the chance to complete a full day of testing with the Silverstone based team. Vervisch claimed the F3 title at the Batangas International Circuit last weekend, winning both races.

"Fantastic! This is my first title in autosport," said Vervisch after claiming the championhip title. "It was a very interesting experience and the opposition was very strong. I could not win the title that easy.

"I used the Asian Formula 3 for my preparation on the European campaign. Now I can totally concentrate on the German Formula 3 Championship with Swiss Racing Team. And then there is also the Formula 1 test I get for winning the Asian title. My season could not have started better."

In 2008 Vervisch will continue his race career in the German F3 series. Last year he was the series vice-champion with JB Motorsport.
