McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh expects the next few races of the championship at least to be a case of nip and tuck between Ferrari, McLaren and BMW and doesn't expect one team or driver to quickly establish themselves as the championship favourite.
"I'm not sure we will - and I know there will be other winners during the campaign," Whitmarsh said when asked whether a pattern of winners would emerge soon after the first three races brought three different race winners. "The BMW drivers look strong, too - we just need to respond and make sure we beat them in Spain."
"We have slightly underperformed for two races, but both championships are still very close," Whitmarsh added. "Three teams and six drivers are all within a handful of points of each other - I don't think anybody is going to run away with either of the titles this year."
