Giancarlo Fisichella says he is happy that Renault is still struggling for form after he was dumped to make way for the return of Fernando Alonso and the hiring of much cheaper, younger talent Nelson Piquet Jr.
When asked if he was happy to be fighting with Renault on track in the last race at Bahrain Fisichella told the official F1 website, "Yes. Especially because everyone thought that Fernando was going to save the team and Renault spent a lot of time and money to give him a good car."
"In fact in the first three races of 2007, I performed better with them than he has done so far this year," he added. "I am very happy to be fighting with them as it shows that Force India's project is a very promising one and that I made a good decision to join the team."
Fisichella went on to add that he does expect Renault will make progress soon and get back on the right track.
