Jenson Button was full of praise for new team principal Ross Brawn after the British driver made the most out of conditions in the Spanish Grand Prix to score his first points of the season, bringing his Honda home in sixth.
"It's good to get off the mark and it was a good race," Button said. "We had the safety car period and thankfully Heikki is ok, but we were running very long on fuel and it kind of compromised that but it worked out fine."
"I've got used to the new aero package which is working well now on the car and we can take that forward," he added. "What we're seeing on the car is what we're seeing in the wind tunnel so it's correct and we're doing the right thing, but you're never going to make the jump to be on the pace of the Ferrari and McLarens overnight."
"Ross Brawn's technical management is having a great impact and everyone's feeling very encouraged for the next few races and the future of Honda," he concluded.
