Dennis denies involvement in Mosley scandal

01 May 2008

McLaren team principal Ron Dennis has issued a strong denial that he, his company or any other agency working for them had any hand in the News of the World's exposé of FIA president Max Mosley's private life.

The Times newspaper reports that Dennis has asked the general secretary of the Czech Automobile Association for clarification over some remarks he made in a radio interview that seemed to link the FIA president's scandal and McLaren.

Disgraced Mosley, while maintaining there was nothing wrong with what he got up to in a London dungeon with five prostitutes, is complaining that he is the victim of a plot by a 'specialist group' employed to trap him. Mosley has even eomployed a private investigations company to track down anyone that may have been behind his public shaming.

Dennis, whose team fell foul of the FIA and Mosley last season in the spy scandal, has denied any involvement.

"As I have consistently said whenever I've been asked about this, I categorically deny that I have anything to do with the News of the World's investigation into Mr Mosley, neither does anyone connected with the McLaren Group or the McLaren Mercedes team," Dennis told The Times newspaper. "Neither does any agent or any other party acting on behalf of myself or anyone connected with the McLaren Group or McLaren Mercedes team."
