Raikkonen fastest in second practice
09 May 2008 / Results / PhotosKimi Raikkonen set the fastest lap time on Friday afternoon. The reigning world champion was only just ahead of McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton. David Coulthard showed he is well on the pace at Istanbul Park as the Scotsman finished fourth.
Friday's second free practice session started, just like the 1st free practice session, at a damp track. The damp track was not caused by the cleaning crew though this time but by rain showers between the first and second session. Temperatures dropped to 13 degrees Celsius.
After thirty minutes into the session Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber lost control of his car and crashed into the wall. The Australian was doing fine fortunately but the front of his RB04 was destroyed.
Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen completed just three laps in the morning but in the afternoon the Finn showed there was nothing to worry about. He completed 30 laps in the afternoon and set the fastest lap.
