Massa savours pole, expects tough race

Felipe Massa savoured his third straight pole position at the Turkish Grand Prix but warned that he expects tomorrow's race to be difficult, with the McLaren duo of Hekki Kovalainen and Lewis Hamilton just a couple of tenths behind him in second and third.

"I think I put together a very good lap," Massa said. "In Q2 I couldn't get a good lap in because of the traffic, but in Q3 I managed to warm the tyres up and not get stuck in traffic - I even passed Fernando on my out lap to make sure I wouldn't have anyone in front of me and I could get in a good lap."

"I'm just so happy to come here for the third time with Ferrari and take a third pole position," he added. "It's a fantastic track for me and I have a lot of pleasure to drive on a track like this. You come to turn eight and it's so challenging with everyone fighting oversteer in there and a lot of the corners are very technical."

"It won't be easy tomorrow because we know our competitors are fast and close to us, but we will try to have the best race possible," warned the two-time Turkish Grand Prix winner.
