Trulli fastest on wet final day
16 May 2008 / Results / PhotosJarno Trulli set the pace on the final day of testing this week at Paul Ricard in France, as the teams turned their attention towards preparation for the Canadian Grand Prix, despite the overcast conditions and rain.
The teams ran on a revised configuration of the circuit to match the low downforce demands of the Gilles Villeneuve circuit.
Trulli's best lap was set in a break during the rain showers a 1m31.360s time, marginally faster than Renault's Nelson Piquet. Pedro de la Rosa was third fastest for McLaren ahead of Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel in the brand new car.
Massa was fifth but completed only 19 laps, none in the wet conditions but finishing ahead of Heidfeld, Buemi in the Red Bull, Fisichella, Button, Sutil and Hulkenberg in the Williams.
There were a couple of red flags when Heidfeld and Sutil had separate spins.
