Ronnie Peterson museum to be opened next week

20 May 2008

Legendary Formula 1 driver Ronnie Peterson will have his own museum as of next week in his home town Örebro in Sweden. A Ronnie Peterson museum will be opened 31 May. Visitors to the museum can see a number of interesting Peterson items such as his Lotus 72, used in the 1975 season.

Ronnie Peterson raced along the ones such as Stirling Moss and Gilles Villeneuve in the seventies. Peterson enjoyed his Formula One debut back in 1973 at the French Grand Prix in a Lotus 72. He claimed three race wins in his debut season.

Peterson died after a horrible accident at the Italian Grand Prix in 1978 as he collided with several other drivers.

For F1 fans that would like to visit the museum they have opened a special website.
