Raikkonen happy with second

Kimi Raikkonen looked like he had pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix in the bag, until team mate Felipe Massa pipped him in the final seconds of qualifying. Nevertheless, the championship leader is still confident starting from second.

"My first and second runs were both ok, but I probably took it too easy in the first few corners," said Raikkonen. "I managed to do a good lap apart from that and it wasn't enough, but it's ok to be on the front row going into the race tomorrow. The tyres have been working well for me, it's just difficult to get the first lap out and that's been the most difficult thing for me."

"We didn't know what to expect here because it was very difficult for us here last year, but we've improved the lap," he added. "Before we came here we weren't 100 per cent sure how well we'd do, but it looks like we made a good step and we can challenge for the win now."
