Teams and drivers woke up to their biggest fear for this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix, that it would be run in wet conditions. This morning's weather has consisted of heavy showers and cool conditions at 16 degrees Centigrade.
Forecasters are saying the rain is here to stay, will hang around today through the race and will continue well into tomorrow.
The rain is forecast to continue falling throughout this afternoon, and winds will also pick up with gusts predicted of up to 25mph.
Navigating the streets of Monaco in dry conditions is difficult enough, a soaked circuit will make conditions treacherous, particularly at the start. The drivers will also have to take care of their wet tyres with extra care, as during the dunnel section the track will remain dry, and cause wet tyres to wear out faster.
