Kovalainen couldn't do any more

25 May 2008

Heikki Kovalainen summed up the concerned feeling at McLaren after the team saw rival Ferrari lock out the front row for tomorrow's Monaco Grand Prix. Kovalainen lines up fourth while team mate Hamilton will be third on the grid.

"Ferrari has very strong this year and haven't lost any of their performance this week," Kovalainen said. "They are performing very well and I just couldn't get any more out of the car or tyres today, especially the softer tyres I just couldn't get any more. I'm not sure why but we need to take a look and find out why."

Kovalainen denied that his brush with the barrier in the Saturday morning practice session put him at any disadvantage. "In the morning the only damage was to the wheel which clipped the barrier a little but there wasn't any other problem than that," he insisted.
