Second place was maximum - Kubica
25 May 2008 / Results / PhotosRobert Kubica brought his BMW home in a strong second place at Monaco but admitted that it was the best result his team could have hoped for or achieved today.
"We started the race with too low pressure in the tyres and I was suffering the first few laps," Kubica said. "Fortunately Raikkonen had a penalty but you can't overtake because I couldn't see anything with the spray. In the second stint I had a lot of graining on the tyres."
"Felipe came out in front of me and was heavier but could pull away still," Kubica added. "Then I managed to get the pace in the next stint and we changed tyres to dry quicker than Felipe and managed to pass him there. I think second place was the maximum for us this weekend and I'm very happy."
