Williams driver Nico Rosberg was well under way at Saturday morning's free practice session. The German completed the fastest lap in the final free practice session ahead of this afternoon's qualifying session. Both Toro Rosso drivers crashed their cars into the wall.

While on Friday the opening session was declared wet the free practice session on Saturday morning was dry and there was even a bit of sun. The first driver who completed a timed lap was BMW Sauber F1 driver Nick Heidfeld. The German didn't do well though this morning as he was in P18 at the end of the session. His team mate Robert Kubica did slightly better but his eleventh position was also disappointing.

The Scuderia Toro Rosso team will have a lot of work to do between practice and qualifying. Sebastian Vettel crashed hard into the wall causing a red flag for almost ten minutes. And just when the session was well underway again his team mate Sebastien Bourdais kissed the wall damaging his car too.

Around the end of the session Renault driver Nelson Piquet spun in the final chicane just softly touching the wall.

At the end of the session Nico Rosberg topped the time sheets, just ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton.
