Melbourne to host F1 race until 2015

Accorcding to media reports in Australia the future of Melbourne's Australian Grand Prix has been secured until the end of 2015. The Victorian state government has reached a verbal agreement with Formula One Management boss Bernie Ecclestone.

Melbourne plays host to the Australian Grand Prix since 1996. In the past few months the race was under pressure, as Ecclestone wants to see a night race being held in Melbourne. At the moment it is unclear whether or not the Australian Grand Prix will be held at night in the future but it will most likely remain part of the Formula One calendar.
