Hamilton hits out at British press

23 June 2008

Lewis Hamilton has hit back at certain sections of the British media for their critical treatment of him since his crash in the Canadian Grand Prix, and as continued reports about his private life leak into the tabloid gossip pages.

"Since the Canada incident I hadn't read one report, which helped me," Hamilton told ITV. "I came here and found out there is a lot of negativity in the media, which is to be expected. They build you up and they break you down, but they can't break me."

"There's a lot of crap coming out in the papers," he added. "I want to race and the worst thing is all this stuff that comes out in the papers. I'm very strong and believe in my abilities and there's nothing that can break me right now."
