Kobayashi enjoys first miles at Silverstone
25 June 2008 / Results / PhotosToyota F1 test driver Kamui Kobayashi enjoyed his first miles at the Silverstone track on Tuesday. The Japanese GP2 driver, who is also the Toyota team's official test driver, completed 82 laps and set the fourth fastest lap time of the day in the TF108.

At Silverstone Kobayashi busied himself with the set-up of the car and new aerodynamic components. In the meantime he had to try and learn the track he never raced at before. Speaking about his day of action at Silverstone Kobayashi said: "This was the first ever time that I've driven here at Silverstone, although I went around on a scooter yesterday to check the track.
"In the morning I spent the early laps getting used to the circuit. It's fun to drive and I especially liked the sweeping, high-speed corners at Becketts. The last sector is tricky, especially the double hairpin at Luffield where it is difficult to find the perfect line. We spent the day testing set-ups and different aerodynamic configurations. We made it through our programme so it was a good day."
