McLaren driver Heikki Kovalainen completed the fastest lap in Friday's second free practice session. The Finn was over half a second ahead of Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber. Jarno Trulli lost his rear wing heading into Stowe and crashed hard into the tyre barriers.

The second 90-minute free practice session got under way this afternoon at 2 pm. Pretty much every Formula 1 driver focused on the race set-up of the car with long runs at Silverstone. Kovalainen was the fastest man out on track in the first half an hour and steadily improved his fastest lap time throughout the session.

With thirty minutes left in the session the British fans saw Jarno Trulli crashed at the same spot as Felipe Massa did this morning. The Toyota driver lost his rear wing heading into Stowe and without any grip he was a passenger in his own car heading for the tyre barriers. Trulli was doing fine afterwards and quickly showed his thumbs up.

Kazuki Nakajima also had a little incident. The Williams driver lost his car coming out of Abbey. He crashed the front of his car into the barriers at Bridge but did make it back to the pitbox with his damaged front wing.

The British Grand Prix weekend will continue on Saturday with a one-hour free practice session starting at 10.00 am local time.
