Webber surprised to be in front row

Mark Webber is enjoying an extremely good British Grand Prix weekend at Silverstone. From the start of the weekend Webber could be found among the fastest drivers on track with his Red Bull car. The Australian will start Sunday's race from the front row.

"This comes a bit as a surprise really," Webber said about his qualifying performance. "We've been pretty strong for most of the weekend but in the second qualifying session we were a bit surprised ourselves with our pace. We left our main rivals well behind us.

"In the last part of the final qualifying session the car was a bit tricky on me but it was ok. We could face a wet race tomorrow so there is still a long way to go. I can't wait for the race to get under way though."

On Thursday the Red Bull team announced Webber has extended his contract with the team.
