Brawn: Rubens could have finished second
07 July 2008 / Results / PhotosBarrichello's podium finish at Sunday's British Grand Prix was Honda's first podium since the Brazilian Grand Prix back in 2006 when Jenson Button finished third. According to Honda F1 team boss Ross Brawn Barrichello could have even finished in second position as there were problems during the Brazilian's pitstop.
"The team did a great job: they made some great calls in the race and we had the right tyres at the right times," Brawn told ITV. "We had a problem with the fuel rig that really probably cost us second place. That's frustrating, but we probably shouldn't be too greedy.
"We don't have the equipment at the moment, but if we can work like this when we get the car we need, then we're going to be able to compete," Brawn said. "The first lap was very good, but we didn't have a lot of pace and we didn't look that special compared to other cars. But when we got on the deep groove wets at the right time, we really took off."
