Hamilton fastest at Hockenheim

Hamilton fastest at Hockenheim

08 July 2008 / Results / Photos

Lewis Hamilton was Tuesday's fastest man on track at Hockenheim. The Briton, winner of Sunday's British Grand Prix, was well ahead of title rival Kimi Raikkonen and Williams driver Nico Rosberg at the German track.

The championship is extremely tight this season and thus the F1 teams will do anything they can to develop the best possible car on the grid. McLaren did not want to stay behind in the latest engine cover designs and completed a full day of testing with the shark fin engine cover that was once introduced by Red Bull Racing.

At Honda Alexander Wurz introduced a new front wing on the team's car. Wurz also caused the only red flag on Tuesday when the Austrian spun off track.

The teams will continue testing at Hockenheim on Wednesday.
