Felipe Massa topped the time sheets in the third and final day of testing at Hockenheim. The Brazilian was just ahead of Honda F1 driver Jenson Button. Kovalainen ended third in Thursday's test.

On Thursday the ten Formula 1 teams continued testing at Hockenheim in preparations for next week's German Grand Prix. At Ferrari Felipe Massa took over the wheel from Kimi Raikkonen.

Today's test was halted several times with red flags. Fernando Alonso and Kazuki Nakajima both caused a red flag as their cars stopped on track with a technical problem. Giancarlo Fisichella caused a red flag when the Italian spun off with his Force India car at the Sachskurve. Although his crash was at high speed Fisichella was doing fine afterwards.
