Pit building completed in Singapore

11 July 2008

The newly build pit building in Singapore at the Republic Boulevard has been completed. Singapore will host its first Formula 1 Grand Prix at the end of September and has completed most of its work this month.

The main building, the pit complex, is a three-storey building on the Marina Promenade and will house the pitboxes for the F1 teams, but also the media centre, podium, paddock club and race control.

Spanning some 350 metres, the building's glass provide visitors with a panoramic view over the pitlane and start finish line.

The completion of the Pit Building was marked with a simple ceremony on Friday morning, witnessed by guest-of-honour, Mr S. Iswaran, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, and key officials from race promoter Singapore GP, the Singapore Tourism Board, and other guests.
