19 July 2008

According to Force India F1 co-owner Vijay Mallya India will have a brand-new track up and running in 2010 to host a Formula 1 grand prix. Speaking at a press meeting Mallya revealed construction would begin this October.

"I had lunch with the CEO of one of India's biggest banks and he told me they had found the right place for the Indian F1 track," Mallya said. "He bought the land and told me construction works will start in October to build the new track.

"I'm confident that the new track will be ready to host a Formula 1 race as early as 2010."
