Renault still targets fourth

Renault still targets fourth

22 July 2008

The Renault Formula 1 team finished in second position in Sunday's German Grand Prix with its driver Nelson Piquet. The Brazilian scored his first ever podium in Formula 1 in his debut season and Renault's first podium finish this season.

The Renault F1 team is targeting a fourth position this season in the constructors' championship. The fourth position is currently the maximum for a number of teams, right behind Ferrari, McLaren and BMW. According to Renault's chief engineer Alan Permane the fourth position is still possible to achieve. "The podium in Germany has certainly helped because we are now only two points off this position," he said. "If we have the chance to score with two cars until the end of the season, we should be able to complete this mission without too much difficulty."
