The BMW Sauber F1 team has decided to end their day of testing at Jerez after completing just three laps on Tuesday morning. The team had stopped its day of testing due to an incident in the morning when a team mechanic suffered from an electric shock when touching the team's car.

Christian Klien completed only a few installation runs when the Austrian arrived back in the pitlane. When the car returned to the pits a team mechanic touched it and suffered an electric shock. He sustained slight injuries to his left hand and grazing on his left arm. After a brief examination at the track's Medical Center, he has returned to work with the test team. Because the team is still investigating the incident, the car did not run in the afternoon.

Tuesday was the first time during an official test that the BMW Sauber F1 car was equipped with the Kinetic Energy Recovery system.
