Sebastian Vettel continued his impressive form as testing at Jerez got underway today and set the fastest time at the wheel of his Toro Rosso. His lap of 1m19.844s put him 0.3s ahead of McLaren tester Gary Paffett at the end of the day.

It was a hot and sunny day at Jerez as teams prepared for the next race in Hungary. Air temperature reached 38 degrees Centigrade and the track was above 50 degrees all day.

Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer finished the day third as all the teams apart from Force India were in action. BMW cut its day short after one if its mechanics received an electric shock from the car after it returned to the pits after just a three laps. It was fitted with the team's new Kinetic Energy Recovery System.

Williams tester Nico Hulkenberg ended up fourth ahead of Red Bull tester Sebastien Buemi and Renault tester Romain Grosjean. Jarno Trulli finished seventh ahead of Wurz in the Honda.

Testing at Jerez continues tomorrow.
