Hamilton happy with second

Lewis Hamilton insists he is happy with second place on the grid for tomorrow's European Grand Prix at Valencia. The McLaren driver put up a fight, going fastest in the final moments of qualifying, only to be edged out by a flying Felipe Massa.

"It was quite a straightforward session for me," Hamilton said. "We noticed we had a good car in practice and Q1 and Q2 was just about getting through which is never a big problem. I stayed on the option tyre for my two flying laps - the first one wasn't great but I think my last lap was pretty good and I was happy with that. For sure there's always a bit of time somewhere to be had, but we have a good starting position for tomorrow."

"Felipe just destroyed everyone in sector one and he's going to be difficult to beat tomorrow but we'll push and try," he added. "Generally my lap wasn't too bad, and I am quite happy with it."
