McLaren boss Ron Dennis has warned against writing off Kimi Raikkonen from a championship challenge this season after a string of difficult races in which the Finn has been out-paced by Felipe Massa, and following engine failure in Valencia, fallen behind in the drivers' championship.
"Kimi is a fierce competitor and a really talented driver," said Dennis, who was Raikkonen's boss before the Finn moved from McLaren to Ferrari in 2007. "Drivers can have good and bad races, and I'm sure he'll forget this one, but he's more than capable of winning."
"So I certainly wouldn't discount him at this stage," he added. "With six races to go, I wouldn't want to make any predictions about him. That's the worst thing we could do."
