Red Bull had one of their most disappointing race weekends of the season in Valencia. The team failed to score any points again and were clearly beaten by sister team Scuderia Toro Rosso. According to David Coulthard it is clear Toro Rosso's Ferrari engine is much better than Red Bull's Renault engine.
: Our sister team Toro Rosso had their best weekend of the season - prompting some to highlight the disparity between our respective engine suppliers," Coulthard said in his column for ITV. "It has become apparent that there is a difference in performance between the Renault engine in the back of the RB4 and the Ferrari in the STR3, with the Ferrari topping the speed traps and the Renault giving away a little in both the power and driveability stakes.
"That's something that we're aware of, Renault is aware of and we're trying to work through. Clearly, it's uncomfortable for Renault and more comfortable for Ferrari for it to be known that there's a difference in engine performance - but I think this is a business where you have to take the facts on the chin and get on with it.
"That's what I expect Renault are doing; for our part, we can't influence that particularly but we can try to run our car as well as we possibly can, and in Valencia we probably gave away a bit of performance in other areas as well."
