Heidfeld tops final practice session

Heidfeld tops final practice session

Nick Heidfeld was this morning's fastest driver at Spa-Francorchamps. The German completed the fastest lap at a drying track and finished just ahead of Heikki Kovalainen and Fernando Alonso. Hamilton and Massa ended fourth and fifth.

Saturday morning's free practice session got under way at a damp track. And while the track was getting dry the rain started to come down making the conditions tricky again at Spa-Francorchamps. Ferrari drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa stayed in for most of the session. The red duo didn't leave their pitbox until ten minutes before the end of the session.

The session started though with a problem for Jenson Button. As the Honda driver went out for his installation run he had to park his car at the side of the track just after La Source. It's costing the Briton valuable time on track.

There is no rain expected during this afternoon's qualifying session.
