Alonso is best driver in F1 - Brawn

Honda team principal Ross Brawn continued his charm offensive towards Fernando Alonso as he bids to persuade the former double champion to join Honda in 2009. Speaking to reporters at Spa Brawn described Alonso as the best driver in F1.

"My view is that he's the best driver in F1 at the moment and we're happy to wait and hope that he makes a positive decision for us," Brawn said. "We're just waiting now."

"He just has the balance of experience and ability," brawn added. "To me there are three very quick drivers who have established themselves so far in F1: Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando. Felipe Massa is coming up behind very quickly."

Brawn did not have any such praise for either of his current two drivers.
