Ferrari wont rush team orders decision

08 September 2008

After the sensational conclusion to the Belgian Grand Prix weekend Ferrari found itself in a better position than it originally seemed, as Hamilton's penalty gave Massa the win and moved him to within two points in the drivers' championship with five rounds remaining.

Kimi Raikkonen's crash in the treacherous conditions while chasing lapping Nico Rosberg and chasing Lewis Hamilton look to have all but ended his championship hopes, but despite wide speculation, Ferrari is not rushing into ordering the reigning champion to support Massa's title challenge.

"We'll take the decision in the team's best interests," Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali said. "In my view the situation now is something we need to think about with no urgency because it's something that is prat of our approach to races."

"When we feel that it's the right time we are going to do it," he added. "But let's take this weekend's result and prepare for Monza the right way. We need to be focused this week."
