Raikkonen tops second free practice

Kimi Raikkonen completed the fastest lap on Friday afternoon at a dry track in Monza. While the first free practice session ended in extreme wet conditions the second free practice session took place at a completely dry track. Behind Raikkonen the Italian fans saw Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld ending second and third.

The second free practice session started on Friday afternoon with a damp track. As the Formula One drivers got out on track the surface would soon be dry though.

There were only a few incidents in the afternoon when some drivers missed the chicane at the end of the long straight. Nelson Piquet was the only driver who was unable to continue his test session as the Brazilian got stuck with his Renault on one of the kerbs.

The Italian Grand Prix weekend will continue on Saturday morning at the Autodromo di Monza at 11.00am local time.
