A delighted Sebastian Vettel hailed an 'unbelievable' victory in the Italian Grand Prix from pole, which established him in F1's record books as the youngest ever race winner.

"Unbelievable," Vettel said. "We had no problems all race and the car was working well with a very good strategy. All that was gone when I took the chequered flag. The lap back to the pits and the podium ceremony was just unbelievable, the best day of my life and I'll never forget it. I just want to say a big, big thank you to all the guys in the team and who'd have thought after a tough start to the season we'd be here. It's just great."
"We thought it might be dry today so we stayed on low downforce and were very fast in the straights compared to the others," he added. "Being first and having no visibility problems was great and it meant I could make a six second gap to Heikki right away. I was pushing to the limit and it was so easy to lose the car at the start. Then it got more tricky as it dried out and we were looking for water to keep the tyres cool. Then we made the switch to intermediates and it was the right choice at the right time. What a weekend, a perfect one with pole and the race win."

"Sometimes I was thinking, there's still P1 on my pit board and how could that be with no more stops or anything planned, so I just wanted to keep it on the track and keep my attention to the end," Vettel explained. "It was difficult to keep concentration and I was just always pushing - just unbelievable."
