Toro Rosso team boss admits Buemi is team's favourite

19 September 2008

Scuderia Toro Rosso team boss Franz Tost didn't make a secret of it who the team's favourite driver is for next season. Tost said the team will most likely sign up GP2 driver Sebastien Buemi for next season but the only thing the team now needs to find is an experienced driver to race alongside the Swiss driver.

On Wednesday Buemi completed a full day of testing at Toro Rosso without any major problems. The 19-year-old Buemi completed 88 laps at Jerez and set the third fastest time on the time sheets that day.

Speaking about Buemi's test for the team Franz Tost, team boss Scuderia Toro Rosso, told Swiss newspaper Le Matin: "Sebastien did an excellent job. We prepared him for a busy day of testing and he did what we expected from him. He completed great lap times and worked hard and devoted with our team. He worked well with the engineers and gave us good feedback.

"After what we've seen this week all we need is to find an experienced driver to support him (Buemi) and then I believe we can take the risk of lining up Sebastien in 2009. He has a lot of talent and he is part of the Red Bull family."
