
The McLaren team is in court today in Paris attempting to win an appeal over Lewis Hamilton's 25-second penalty at the Belgian Grand Prix which dropped the championship leader from first to third in the race result after he was deemed to have gained an advantage by cutting a chicane while in pursuit of Kimi Raikkonen.
Hamilton is making a personal appearance at the court today plead his case - traditionally drivers would just provide a written statement. He is in the court of appeal with team boss Martin Whitmarsh, his race engineer and McLaren's lawyers.
