Hamilton not thinking about the F1 title yet

23 September 2008

Championship leader in Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton, is taking it one race at a time. The McLaren driver realises there are 40 points still up for grabs but rather than thinking about a strategy how to win the championship he wants to do the best possible job at the next few races.

Speaking about his championship chances Hamilton told F1.com: "I don't think about the title or the other drivers, I just think about doing the best job I can each time I get into the car. Clearly a number of drivers can still win the title and so I have to make sure that I do my best."

Hamilton furthermore admitted there are no team orders within McLaren where his team-mate Heikki Kovalainen is supposed to help him out. "We are driving together as team mates to try and win the constructors' championship for McLaren Mercedes," Hamilton said.
