Fernando Alonso showed his talents in the streets of Singapore as the Spaniard topped the time sheets at the end of Friday's second free practice session. The Renault driver finished ahead of championship leader Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa.

After 90-minutes of free practice behind them the Formula 1 drivers were able to seriously start with the set-up of their cars in the second free practice session. Most teams focussed on the race set-up of their cars as they completed long runs in Singapore.
During the second free practice session Sebastien Bourdais wasn't too happy with the performance of his car. The Frenchman complained to his team about a lack of grip and confidence in his car. At Williams Nico Rosberg showed his talent as the German ended in the top five at the end of the session.
Mark Webber had to wait for most of the session. The Australian damaged his car with a crash in the first free practice session . With about half an hour left in the session the Red Bull driver could finally hit the track. He ended eleventh.

In the final minute of the second free practice session Fernando Alonso moved up to P1, pushing Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa down to second and third.
