Ecclestone: Vettel will win the championship one day
05 October 2008Bernie Ecclestone, Formula One Management president, is sure of it: Sebastian Vettel will one day become world champion in Formula 1.
Vettel claimed his maiden win at last month's Italian Grand Prix at the age of just 21. He became the youngest driver ever in F1 to win a race.
Looking back at the start of his career when the German enjoyed his F1 debut last year for BMW: "I still remember giving him his Superlicense and a little piece of advice ahead of his debut race in Turkey. I told him to stay calm and not to over driver his car. But at the end of the session he topped the time sheets, which was just incredible. But after his win in Italy I'm sure of it: he will win the championship one day.
"Sebastian is young, smart and friendly so he is the ideal example for other young drivers who one day hope to join the F1 circus."
