French Grand Prix cancelled for 2009

The French Motorsports federation has cancelled the Formula 1 race at Magny-Cours for next season. The FFSA announced on Wednesday evening that due to financial problems it could not organize the French Grand Prix in 2009.

Having the Canadian Grand Prix dropped from the 2009 calendar and now the French Grand Prix there are just 17 races left on next season's calendar.

In a statement the French automobile federation announced that due to the financial situation it has decided to cancel the French Grand Prix and they thanked all customers who attended the French Grand Prix in recent years.
